Question 1

Do Indian citizens need a visa for Thailand?

Accepted Answer

From 15 September 2026, Indian ordinary passport holders can enter Thailand visa-free for tourism purposes for up to 30 days. No visa application or fee is required for this short stay.

Question 2

What is the current stay duration under the visa exemption?

Accepted Answer

The visa exemption allows a stay of up to 30 days per entry for tourism (and short-term business engagements, as per current official guidance).

Question 3

Is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) still required?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All foreign visitors, including those entering under the visa exemption, must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card online before arrival (recommended within 72 hours of travel).

Question 4

What documents should I carry for visa-free entry?

Accepted Answer

You need a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival with sufficient blank pages, a confirmed return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds if requested by immigration. Completing the TDAC is mandatory.

Question 5

Can I stay longer than 30 days?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For stays longer than 30 days, you can apply for a Tourist e-Visa (single-entry, typically allowing up to 60 days) through the official Thai e-Visa portal before travel. One extension of up to 30 days may also be possible after arrival at a Thai Immigration office, subject to approval and fees.

Question 6

Is Visa on Arrival available for Indians?

Accepted Answer

No. Under the rules effective from 15 September 2026, Visa on Arrival is limited to a small number of nationalities. Indian citizens are covered under the 30-day visa exemption instead.

Question 7

Do I need a visa for business travel?

Accepted Answer

Short-term business engagements may be covered under the visa exemption. For longer business stays or other purposes, a Non-Immigrant visa must be obtained in advance through the official e-Visa system.

Question 8

Where can I apply for a longer-stay tourist visa?

Accepted Answer

All visa applications (except certain special categories) are submitted online via the official Thai e-Visa portal: https://www.thaievisa.go.th.

Question 9

How do I apply?

Accepted Answer

You can complete your Thailand E-visa application through the DU Visas portal. Our team reviews your details carefully before submission to help ensure a smooth and accurate process.
